Welcome to the the very first edition of a new series (we’re starting a lot of new things recently!), dedicated to showcasing the latest and greatest updates from our team, and a clear look at the exciting new features, enhancements, and improvements coming to Communify. Push to Prod gives you an insight into our ongoing work and celebrates the progress our team is making.
We’re committed to making Communify better every day and look forward to sharing every big and small breakthrough with you.
We have some catching up to do, so let’s get started.
New: Q&A System
Question is now available when creating a new post, allowing you to post queries and receive responses from subject matter experts, or anyone else who feels they can assist, with a collaborative up-voting system in place to highlight the most useful answers in a robust Q&A system. All of these mechanics are also seamlessly integrated into your very own knowledge capture system, passively ensuring all the best answers can be found in one centralised and easily searchable location.
New: Threads
They say a picture paints a thousands words, so Threads must need more that, because you really need to see it in action to understand why we’re so excited about. We also know that this is just the first version as well, and just how much we have planned for the next iteration. But even now, Threads make engaging with posts so much better than before, making it possible to quickly engage with not only the post itself but also replies, in a seamless, effortless way.
And if you prefer the full page experience, don’t worry. Double-clicking a post opens the full page version, ensuring we still have the perfect landing pages for events, live-streams and more. Who said you can’t have the best of both worlds?
New: Private & Hidden Spaces
While discover-ability and accessibility is crucial for some spaces, its just as important for some others to ensure only specific people or groups can join. There are now 3 visibility/access settings available to the admins of Spaces.
Public: Visible in Discover and available for anyone to join.
Private: Visible in Discover, but can only be joined on request with permission from an owner or admin.
Hidden: Not visible to anyone expect members, and can only be joined by invitation.
We have also updated the UI to make it much clearer when you are posting in a private space, versus a public space.
Improvements, Updates, Tweaks & More
Added text editor options to replies, including tags and mentions.
Updated Thread reply UX for improved experience
Overhauled Post Pages for improved and more consistent experience
New shortcut: Single-Click a post to open a thread. Double-Click to open full page.
Added media attachments to Posts (only images and video for now!)
Improved appearance of ‘My Space’ and ‘My Events’ drop-downs
Added custom links to user profiles
Added Discover filters to a carousel on Mobile, making for a better experience
Profile pins are now interactive, allowing you to jump into Discover to find others with the same pin.
Add Member counts to Space cards on Discover
Added recipient settings to Create, allowing you to adjust which space the post is sent to without losing your work.
Many, many more small refinements and surprises to find for yourself.
Bugs Eliminated
Fixed pin icons alignments on Mobile.
Fixed UI for sidebar menu on Mobile.
Fixed event badge UI on thread posts.
Fixed ‘read more’ to skip the videos if it comes in between the truncated text.
Fixes for images on feed and post pages.
Fixed blank space behind the mobile navbar.
Fixed post getting hidden behind the navbar on mobile.
Fixed hover effect issue on mobile while liking the post.
Fixed instance of incorrect Kudos icon color.
